Another way to get better gas mileage is to consider how you are driving. If you drive heavily, meaning that you often hit the gas and break hard, think about laying off the breaks and gas a bit and letting the car coast. This cuts down on how much gas is used.

Every automobile differs in regards to the speed at which it gets its highest ratings for fuel efficiency, however a significant number of automobiles cars burn much more gasoline when driving at speeds greater than 60 mph.
